About Us

Welcome to Channel Islands Schutzhund and K-9 Police Club. We are located in Ventura, Southern California. On this site, you will find helpful training articles, trial and seminar dates, trial results, current news of club members and their dogs.

Channel Islands Schutzhund and K-9 Police Club is a member of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. Its members are dedicated to promoting and preserving the true working temperament, character and conformation of our working breeds. All breeds of working heritage and all dogs with correct temperament are welcome to participate without prejudice.

The objectives of our club are twofold. One is to preserve the German Shepherd Dog in accordance with the Breed Standard as a working dog, to promote humane training methods and to support responsible dog ownership and breeding. Two is the promotion of the German Shepherd Dog for the Schutzhund sport, police work, rescue work, herding, breed suitability, tracking and to the interest and educate the public.

If your dog is mentally and physically sound, has a confident and stable temperament, loves to retrieve and play tug, is not dog aggressive and you think you might be interested in learning about the sport, you're welcome to come out on a training day and meet us and our dogs. Be warned, though: once you join the club, we require dedication and commitment to the sport.

We are a non-profit organization. All of our dues, levies, donations and other income is disbursed to promote the objectives of Channel Islands Schutzhund and K-9 Police Club.

Channel Islands Schutzhund and K-9 Police Club web site is developed and maintained by The Virtuoso Group, Inc.  For further information or comments about this site, please contact us via email.
